- Our editorial improvements cover the whole edition. The intensive editing of the Vatican collection area revealed as many as 9 new type variations. In the San Marino collection area we discovered a novel perforation variation in the postage stamp set “Flowers“ from 1957. As an orientation aid for collectors, we have now introduced postage charts for tariff-coded issues from Italy.
- The revision and updating of price quotations was another focal point. Attention, all collectors of the Vatican area: The stamp issued on the occasion of the World Youth Day in Lisbon, which was taken off the market last year, is currently the subject of wild speculation. Its value has already soared to four-digit prices. We also see increasing price quotations regarding other contemporary issues, such as the ”Technology Park” or “ASCAT“ stamps issued by San Marino. In general you will find most price fluctuations in the expensive first years of the collection areas. A rare stamp issued by the Italian foreign postal system in China shows the largest price increase – its value has jumped to EUR 10,000.
