About the Book

Michel Central Europe 2024

Content:

Slovakia, Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Western Hungary.

Description:

  • Editorial improvements cover the whole edition. In the collection area of Czechoslovakia, a new type variation of the stamp “Personalities from Cultural Life”, issued in 1961, was discovered. In regards to Slovakia as well as to the Czech Republic we complemented current tariff information. The new MICHEL now provides collectors of Hungary with the certificates of validity of all issues between 1964 and 1990.
  • The revision and updating of price quotations was another focal point. Particularly the rarer perforations as well as type variations with distinct increases scored among the issues of the Slovakian states. The self-adhesive stamp booklets issued by Slovakia as well as the Czech Republic are in great demand as well. We have also noted higher quotations for various block issues.
  • In Czechoslovakia we see diverse price tendencies. The overprints from 1919 have shown remarkable auction results. In one case the appraisal has doubled to a five-digit amount. There have been quite a lot of fluctuations of the prices of the sheetlets issued between the 1960s and the 1980s. While the four-stamp sheetlets of the art series have come under pressure, the sheetlets of ten issues are among the winners.
  • Over 9300 high resolution colour photos and approx. 42.200 price appraisals.
